"The Taig Lathe and its accessories" by Tony Jeffree is, to date, the only book published on the subject of this popular and highly capable desktop lathe. Lots of information on how to set up the lathe, what its accessories can do, along with constructional projects for further accessories and enhancements. Hot off the press.
G.H. Thomas's "Model Engineers Workshop Manual" is a must for serious model engineers. Lots of tips and techniques from one of the "old masters".
G.H. Thomas's "Workshop Techniques" - More workshop wisdom. This book was edited into its final form after the author's death.
Laurie Pennman's "Practical Clock Escapements" - All you need to know about clock escapements and how to design and build them.
Laurie Pennman's "The Clock Repairer's Handbook" - An excellent book on all aspects of clock repair.
Philip Woodward's "My Own Right Time" - A fascinating account of his exploration of clockwork design.
"The Book of Numbers" by John Conway and Richard Guy - A fascinating introduction into the world of number theory.
"Fermat's Last Theorem" by Simon Singh - The story of how one of the oldest puzzles in mathematics was finally solved.
"Longitude" by Dava Sobel - Widely acclaimed account of the life work of John Harrison, who developed the first successful marine timepiece and thereby revolutionised marine navigation.
"Wheel and pinion cutting in horology" by J. Malcolm Wild - A comprehensive treatment of the subject, suitable for professionals and amateurs alike.
"Watch and Clockmakers' Handbook Dictionary and Guide" by F.J. Britten - First published in 1907, contains a vast range of information on horological topics from A to Z.
"Clock and Watch Escapements" by W.J. Gazeley - A classic horological text, newly available after many years of being out of print.
"Clock design and construction" by Laurie Penman - Covers all aspects of clock movement design and construction, including dial making.
"Practical Clock Escapements" by Laurie Penman - Deals in detail with the five escapements that are most commonly used in domestic clocks, also covers other types of escapement.
"The Watchmaker's and Model Engineer's Lathe" by Donald de Carle - A very useful book, covering the selection, care, and maintenance of the small precision lathe.
"The Model Engineer's Handbook" by Tubal Cain - A vast amount of useful information for model engineers, from the dimensions of standard tapers to the properties of superheated steam.
